Here's something we've been building behind the scenes. The engine starts from the closing market line — measured over five seasons of football, it is the single best predictor available — then layers a limited opinion on top of it from Elo and team quality, injuries, travel and rest, weather, and how the line itself has moved. It runs 10,000 Monte Carlo simulations per matchup and publishes a pick only when it disagrees with the market by enough for the disagreement to mean something.
Most games get no pick, and that is the point. Every factor here has been backtested against five seasons of results, and the ones that didn't hold up — pace of play and referee tendencies on totals among them — were taken out rather than left in to pad the feature count.
